The advertised rates are promotional: they depend on Auto Pay and paperless billing, run for a stated term and then give way to the regular rate. Rates also vary by market, so the new address may be priced differently from what you see here. Taxes, fees and surcharges come on top; on TV that means the Broadcast Basic fee and, on Select and Premier, regional sports surcharges. You hear the exact rate for the address, and the rate after the promotion, before you commit.
Optimum schedules the installation itself. A lot of homes can use a self-install kit that Optimum sends out with instructions. If a technician is required, or you would simply rather have one, Optimum books the visit, and there may be a one-time charge for professional installation. No. Optimum's residential internet has no annual term contract, which means no early termination fee on the internet if plans change. The Price Lock is a separate thing: where Optimum offers one, it holds the base internet rate steady for a set time, up to five years on eligible plans. That is Optimum committing to a price, not you committing to a term. It covers the base service rate only, not taxes, fees, surcharges or optional add-ons.
Choose a 1 Gig fiber tier and there is no monthly charge for its Gateway 6E / WiFi 6E router. Other tiers use a Smart WiFi router, and a monthly equipment charge can apply depending on plan and market. On most plans Optimum's own gateway is required for the service to be delivered and supported, so bring-your-own options are limited; confirm what applies to your plan on the call. If the old modem was rented from your previous provider, check how that provider wants it returned.
New services can be added: internet, TV, Optimum Mobile or Home Phone, with today's promotions and the resulting rate explained on the call. This number handles new orders and extra services rather than existing accounts, so moving your current account to the new address is arranged with Optimum.
