TV for the new place, booked with the fiber
Kinetic’s live channels come down the same fiber line that brings in your internet; the alternative is to keep streaming the apps you already pay for. We compare the two for your household before the move, so the TV gets settled on the same call as the internet.

three setups for the new living room
Mostly it depends on whether anyone at home watches live sport or the local news.
live TV over the fiber
Regional sports, news and your local stations arrive on the fiber that also carries the internet, with a cloud DVR for recordings and no satellite dish to fix to the new house.
bring your streaming apps along
Streaming subscriptions are tied to your accounts, not your address, so they come to the new place with you. If the household already pays for three or four, keeping them on the right fiber tier often costs less than a TV package, and we work out which on the call.
going without a TV package
A move is a natural moment to drop the TV package, provided the line can carry every stream running at the same time. Netflix suggests about 15 Mbps per 4K stream, which puts four simultaneous streams near 60 Mbps before laptops and phones join in, and we add up your household’s streams on the call.
worth deciding before the move
what a TV package still does better than apps
Two things: regional sport and local news. If neither matters in your house, streaming a handful of apps over the fiber normally works out cheaper than a channel lineup, and we will say so rather than book TV nobody watches.
- Regional sports networks are still hard to find on streaming
- Local stations vary from one app to the next
- Budget around 60 Mbps if four people stream in 4K at once
- Taking TV as well lowers the price of the internet line
what the call sorts out before moving day
Kinetic sets the price whichever way you order. What the call adds is the address check, the full monthly cost and an install request timed around your move.
less evening slowdown, not none
On fiber, the connection into the house is not split with the rest of the block the way a cable segment is, which takes away one common reason for evening slowdowns. Full speed is still not guaranteed: Kinetic’s wider network has its own limits, and in a house you have just moved into, a slow room is more often about where the gateway ended up than about the line itself.
the first bill, explained before you move
You hear what the first bill at the new address will include before you agree to anything: the rate, how long Kinetic holds it, the equipment charge and the taxes on top.
an install date after you get the keys
Tell us the new address and the day you get the keys. We check what Kinetic has built there and, if you order, ask for an install slot after that date while you are still on the call.
one to note for later
up to a $200 prepaid Mastercard®
Choose the 1 Gig or 2 Gig tier and a prepaid card from Kinetic follows a couple of months after the service goes live, usually once the move is behind you. On the call we confirm the amount your tier carries.
Card is fulfilled by Kinetic and requires the qualifying plan to stay active. Issuing bank terms and an expiry date apply. Every disclosure is listed in the footer below.
set up the whole house on one account
Services cost less from Kinetic as a bundle than one by one, and a new home is easier to run with one login and one bill.
fiber internet for the new place
Book this first: Kinetic’s TV and home phone both run over the same fiber line.
TV for the new living room
A live channel lineup added to the Kinetic bill, or the streaming apps you already use, running on the new fiber.
a home phone at the new address
