The short version
The service at the new address is DIRECTV’s whichever way you order. DIRECTV sets the packages, promotions and pricing, and it fulfills, installs, bills and supports the service whether you order at directv.com or through an authorized dealer. One exception to ask about: a promotion DIRECTV runs only on its own website may not be orderable by phone. What changes is how the buying goes: through a dealer, one person compares the options for the address you are moving to, and you can ring the same number afterwards.
What an authorized dealer is, in practice
An authorized DIRECTV dealer is an independent business that DIRECTV has contracted to sell its service. If you order through us, DIRECTV pays us a commission; you pay us nothing, and what you pay DIRECTV is the price DIRECTV set. From the first day at the new address the account is DIRECTV’s: DIRECTV’s installers, billing, equipment and customer service.
Dealers have sold DIRECTV for decades next to DIRECTV’s own sales channels. As for who owns the company now: the private-equity firm TPG has wholly owned DIRECTV, LLC since July 2, 2025, the day it completed buying AT&T’s remaining 70% stake, a deal reported at roughly $7.6 billion.
What stays the same either way
| What you get | Through a dealer vs. direct |
|---|---|
| Packages and channel counts | No difference: DIRECTV sets them |
| Advertised prices and promotions | Set by DIRECTV and never marked up here. A promotion DIRECTV runs only on its own website may not be orderable by phone; ask and we will say. |
| Installation and technicians | No difference: DIRECTV books and carries out the install |
| Billing, and who owns the account | No difference: DIRECTV bills you directly |
| Equipment (Gemini / Gemini Air) | The same hardware on the same lease terms |
| Support after you move in | No difference: DIRECTV supports the service |
What a dealer cannot do is get you a hidden lower price, and we will not pretend otherwise. A site that advertises DIRECTV below DIRECTV’s own pricing is a warning sign, not a bargain.
What ordering through us adds for a move
- Every option, priced for the new ZIP. Streaming, satellite and Genre Packs compared for the address you are moving to, with the fees read out in plain English (or Español).
- One number to call back. If something about the order needs answering after the call, you ring the same number you ordered on.
- Offers checked against the order. We keep up with DIRECTV’s current promotions so the order carries the ones you qualify for, and none that have ended.
- A straight answer on fit. If a smaller Genre Pack, or no TV package at all, suits the new household better, we say so, even though it costs us the sale.
How to tell a legitimate dealer site
Dealer sites range from careful to careless. Whichever one you land on while planning the move, a trustworthy DIRECTV dealer page will:
- State near the top, not only in the footer, that it is an independent authorized dealer;
- Give the legal business entity behind the site;
- Print current, dated pricing with each fee shown beside the price it belongs to;
- Stop short of claiming to be DIRECTV, promising prices below DIRECTV’s, or advertising things DIRECTV does not sell (DIRECTV does not sell satellite internet, for one, and NFL Sunday Ticket is now a YouTube product);
- Link to real privacy, TCPA and disclaimer policies.
Apply the same list to this page. Super Home Services operates this site, the pricing was last checked on September 9, 2026, and each fee we know of sits beside the price it applies to.
So which should you use?
Order whichever way suits you; the DIRECTV service you get is the same. A dealer makes sense when you would rather have one person compare the options for the new address by phone, and the checklist above works on any dealer site, this one included.
