How we work
Who is Super Home Services?
An independent authorized retailer based in Hicksville, NY 11801. We are not a cable company or an internet provider. We arrange home services on your behalf with the providers we hold agreements with, and we tell you honestly when a provider at your address is one we cannot order for you.
Is this the official site of Spectrum or any other provider?
No, and we say so on every page. Provider names appear here because we are authorized to sell their services or because they show up in availability results. Your service agreement, bill and support come from the provider directly.
How are you paid?
The provider pays us a commission after an order we placed is installed and active. Nothing is added to your bill. We disclose it because you should know how any site you take advice from earns its money.
What do you do with my information?
The ZIP search stores nothing about you. If you call, we use what you tell us only to check availability and place the order. Payment details are entered in the provider's own systems, never with us. The Privacy Policy sets out the detail.
Setting up a home
What is the right order to do things in?
Confirm the address is serviceable, then book internet first because it has the longest lead time, then TV and phone on the same install where possible, then mobile, then security. Our moving hub lays this out as a week-by-week timeline.
Self-install or a technician?
A self-install kit ships in a few days and takes most people under half an hour. A technician visit is needed for new lines, some fiber installs and most TV setups. We tell you which applies before you order so it fits your move-in plan.
I am renting. Does that change anything?
Sometimes. Fiber or satellite installs can need landlord permission because they involve drilling or a dish. Wireless and existing-line options avoid that. Tell us it is a rental and we will steer you accordingly.
Can I transfer my existing service instead of starting fresh?
Often, yes, and sometimes it is worse. Transfers keep your account but usually keep your current rate too, while a new order at the new address may qualify for new-customer pricing. We compare both.
What if my new address has only one provider?
It happens more than people expect. We will tell you plainly, and cover the alternatives that do not need a wired line — 5G home internet and satellite — so you can still make a choice.
Money
Do I pay more by ordering through you?
No. You pay the provider's own price; we never add a markup. A few provider promotions are online-only and can't be ordered by phone, and we tell you when that applies.
Why do bills go up after a year?
Most cable and TV promotions run twelve months and then step up to the standard rate, commonly by twenty to thirty-five dollars. We tell you the date and the number before you order so it is never a surprise.
Which fees are easy to miss?
Equipment rental, one-off installation or activation charges, broadcast and regional sports surcharges on TV, and taxes. We walk through the ones that apply to your specific order.
Are there deposits or credit checks?
Some providers run a credit check and may ask for a deposit. It varies by provider and situation. We will tell you what to expect before you commit.
Choosing services
How much internet speed does a household actually need?
For one or two people, 100 to 300 Mbps is comfortable. A family streaming in 4K with someone working from home is better on 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps. Beyond that you are paying for headroom most homes never use. Upload speed matters more than people expect.
Fiber, cable or 5G home internet?
Fiber if it reaches you: fastest, matching upload and download, most consistent. Cable is widely available with fast downloads and slower uploads. 5G home internet needs no technician and works well where wired options are thin. We tell you which of these actually reach your address.
Is bundling worth it?
Frequently, because adding TV or mobile often lowers the internet rate and lengthens the price guarantee. Not always, though. We run the bundled and unbundled numbers and tell you which wins.
Do I need home security?
If the house is empty during the day, monitored security does something a camera cannot: someone verifies the alarm and sends help. If you mainly want to watch for parcels, a camera alone may be enough, and we will say so.
Still deciding
The questions worth asking before the van arrives.
Most of what goes wrong on move-in day was decided weeks earlier — by an install slot nobody booked, or a transfer nobody started.
